Post-offer Screening helps to ensure that prospective workers have the physical abilities to complete identified job tasks. The screening can also help identify any physical problems the worker may encounter while completing work related tasks, which may place the worker or their coworker’s at risk. Post-offer Screening helps to reduce the risk of injury.
If required, The BCL Team will schedule a review of the workplace and positions to be screened.
The Post-offer Screen includes the following:
- pre-test questionnaire
- review of past history related to accidents and injuries to determine if there are any subsequent ongoing physical problems related to these incidents
- review abilities related to critical functional tasks (walking, sitting, etc.)
- blood pressure check
- measurement of flexibility of neck, back, upper extremities, and lower extremities
- safety related lifestyle habits (smoking, stress, etc.)
- vision testing
- musculo-skeletal assessment
- report indicating any problems identified (This report will include an opinion regarding the worker’s ability to meet their job demands and recommended interventions)
Avoiding a potential injury and reducing risk of time loss is an employer’s best defense against unnecessary costs!
